Description :

The Sundarbans is the largest mangrove forest on Earth and among the most remote and least-explored ecosystems in South Asia. Located in the delta where the Ganges, Brahmaputra, and Meghna rivers meet the Bay of Bengal, the forest stretches across a vast and intricate landscape of saline-tolerant trees and shifting mudflats, forming a natural fortress that protects the coastline from the fury of tropical cyclones. This sprawling labyrinth of emerald green is intersected by a complex network of tidal waterways, mudflats, and small islands, creating a dynamic environment where the land and sea are in a constant state of flux. Beyond its sheer scale, the Sundarbans serves as a critical sanctuary for biodiversity, harboring species that have adapted to the harsh, salty conditions of the tidal surge. It remains a place of profound silence and raw beauty, where the rhythms of the tide dictate the pace of life, and the dense canopy of Sundari and Gewa trees hides one of the most high-density populations of the majestic Bengal tiger found anywhere in the world.

Tour Highlights :

■ Spend two nights on a small but comfortable houseboat, anchoring in remote corners of the Sundarbans, the world’s largest mangrove forest, in a magical environment.

■ Glide through the peaceful, small creeks and channels of Sundarban in a silent rowing boat to observe birds and wildlife up close in their natural habitat.

■ Trek deep inside Sundarban on a flat and dry trail with an armed forest ranger searching for birds and wildlife. Enjoy a tourist-free beach deep inside the Sundarbans, where the forest meets the Bay of Bengal in complete tranquility.

■ Climb observation towers deep inside the forest for breathtaking views of the vast mangrove canopy and its network of creeks and rivers.

■ Stop for lunch at a dolphin sanctuary and see the endangered Irrawaddy and Ganges River Dolphins jumping around your boat.

■ Enjoy some delicious, authentic Bangladeshi dishes prepared by our chef on the boat, which you won’t find at your hotels in Bangladesh.

Day 01 Gateway to the Mangroves
  • 07:00 AM: Meet at Khulna Jailkhana Ghat or Mongla Port. Board your cruise ship, receive a welcome drink, and attend a safety briefing.
  • 09:00 AM: The ship starts cruising toward the Sundarban Forest. On the way, stop at a forest station to complete entry formalities and pick up armed forest guards.
  • 01:30 PM: Enjoy a traditional Bengali lunch on board (typically featuring local fish and fresh vegetables).
  • 03:00 PM: Harbaria Eco-Tourism Center. Disembark for your first forest walk. Walk along the wooden trail to see various mangrove species and keep an eye out for pugmarks (tiger tracks) and spotted deer.
  • 06:00 PM: Return to the ship. Cruise further south toward the Kotka wildlife sanctuary.
  • Night: Overnight stay on the ship anchored in the middle of a river or near a forest station.
Day 02 Deep Forest & Wildlife Adventure

  • 01:00 PM: Lunch on board while the ship moves toward Kochikhali.
  • 03:30 PM: Explore Kochikhali (Tiger Point). Take a nature walk through the grassland and forest edges, which are prime territories for the Royal Bengal Tiger.
  • 07:30 PM: BBQ Night. Enjoy a special barbecue dinner on the ship’s deck under the stars, accompanied by local folk music or stories from the guides.
Day 03 Eco-Centers & Return Journey
